چکیده

This data article is referred to the research article entitled Human monocyte-derived macrophages are heterogeneous: proteomic profile of different phenotypes by Eligini et al. Eligini S., Brioschi M., Fiorelli S., Tremoli E., Banfi C., Colli S. Human monocyte-derived macrophages are heterogeneous: proteomic profile of different phenotypes. J. Proteomics 124, 2015, 112-123. Macrophages obtained in vitro from blood monocytes are largely used as surrogate model of tissue macrophages that are heterogeneous and not easy to obtain and handle. Under spontaneous differentiation in vitro, monocyte-derived macrophages (MDMs) display two dominant subsets (round and spindle) that show different transcriptional, antigenic, and functional profiles mimicking, at least in part, the heterogeneity of tissue macrophages. This article reports the nano-LC-MS(E) analysis of the proteome of round and spindle MDMs allowing a deeper comprehension of macrophage heterogeneity.

DIFFERENTIATION OF MONOCYTE DERIVED DENDRITIC CELLS IN SERUM FREE CONDITIONS

Human peripheral blood monocytes (HPBM) were cultured in the absence of human serum and were converted into a state exhibiting a high accessory function expressed by their ability of supporting lymphocyte proliferation. After a prolonged culture in serum free media the monocyte derived cells were highly viable, increased in size and developed veils and dendritiform elongatio'l1s. Paralleli...

Quantification and comparison of TLR2 activity in monocyte-derived macrophages of zebu and crossbred cattle

The present study was conducted to quantify and compare TLR2 (toll-like receptor 2) activity in monocyte-derived macrophages of zebu (Tharparkar) and crossbred (Holstein-Friesian × Jersey × Brown Swiss × Hariana) cattle. The cells were either induced with Pam3CSK4 or kept as control. The TLR2 activity was quantified in terms of IκB-α inhibitory subunit (NFKBIA) messenger RNA (mRNA) copies...

CYCLIC NUCLEOTIDES CONTROL DIFFERENTIATION OF HUMAN MONOCYTES INTO EITHER HIGHLY ACCESSORY CELLS OR MACROPHAGES

Human peripheral blood monocytes have been found to undergo a transitory state of high accessory activity before they fully become macrophages. Time kinetics were done to follow this accessory potential. Studying the regulation of accessory activity, we have found that monocyte derived accessory cells (m-AC) pass through two phases of development, both of which are adversely controlled by ...

High throughput quantitative proteomic analysis of cellular host response to influenza virus in primary human monocyte-derived macrophages

Host response to infection with pathogens such as influenza viruses serves to primarily generate immune responses in an attempt to counter the invading pathogens. Consequently, how the host interacts with the virus not only has important influence on its pathogenesis, but also its transmission in a population and dissemination within the infected host. On the other hand, an overly active immune...

Endocytic and NBT-reduction activities and TNF expression by macrophages and monocytes of the armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus)

The armadillo could be considered as an experimental model for leprosy studies. Mycobacterium leprae main host cells are macrophages and Schwann cells. However, endocytosis and germicidal activities of armadillo macrophages and monocytes have not yet been evaluated. The aim of this research was to evaluate endocytosis and NBT-reduction activities of monocyte-derived macrophages (MDM) and monocy...
